James N. Smith Architect, Inc. was founded in 2004. James had been working since 1989 for noted Architectural firms in Monterey and throughout California. He has been a licensed Architect since 1993 and has been a resident on the Monterey Peninsula since 1999. He graduated from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo with a degree in Architecture in 1989. 

Our approach to every Client’s project is based on communication and understanding.  We create homes that fulfill our Client’s goals regarding program, style and budget. We focus on assembling a strong project team with clear communication and mutual respect for successful project delivery. As a result, our firm has various repeat Clients, great Contractor working relationships, and many positive referrals. Our Clients enjoy the process of creating fine architecture that suits their needs for many years to come.
